Mobile Repair Order Software Design

To work with the Mobile Repair Order, generally speaking, we follow the typical flow of a unit through the repair order system. By default, when you start the Mobile Repair Order, we bring you back to the last open repair order. From there you can click on one of the service icons to add an activity and start your time. After, you can add parts. When you are finished, you can get the customer to sign the repair order. And once you are done, you click on the "Unit Ready" button.

Forgiveness

People are allowed to make mistakes. If there is a problem, you can delete the last activity you were working on, or delete the part that was issued in error. We have built in as much forgiveness as possible so that you feel comfortable working in the screen.

Testing, Testing, Testing

Every night, we run a full batch of automated functional tests on the Mobile RO application. We feel that this level of software quality is what our users expect. And as we find bugs, we add new test cases to our nightly run. This ensures we never see the same problem twice.

Connected

If you still can't figure it out, your service manager can always fix your work order from the back office application. Because the system is real-time, the moment the data is fixed, you can refresh and see the changes.

Summary

It only takes four steps when you're working in the Mobile RO:

  1. Service
  2. Parts
  3. Signature
  4. Unit Ready
